some questions on supercharger build

my vortech v2 kit got in a few weeks ago and i had some simple questions for you guys since i'm no expert on F/I.

1. i have 40 lb fuel injectors ( i know they are to big). what size is good for around 9 psi?

2. i have an svt cobra fuel pump. will this work on my v6 or do i need to sell and buy a different one?

3. if their are any vortech owners out there, what route did you take to get a baseline tune for your setup? did you send the computer to vortech or did you get a tune from somewhere else?

thanks for being supportive up to this point and all answers and comments are welcome!

im pretty sure you dont have to worry about going too big, as long as you get it tuned properly. going too small is a problem though.

i cant help with the other stuff though...

1. that is fine, just let your tuner know you have them.
2. That pump should work, if not get a SVT Focus pump thats rated at like 310LPH
3. I have never heard of some "sending their computer to vortech". You can either get a chip from them FOR your ECU (computer) or go to a local dyno/tune shop and have them do it.

Vortech recommends you send them your ecu from your car with the stock tune and they will give it a baseline based off what you have done to the car and send it back to you. i don't actually have a dyno local(like 4 hour drive) but i guess i could look into an email tune from tricktuners cause i have a livewire. thanks for that info on the fuel stuff. can you get a chip form vortech and if so, is this the best option?

yes they can give you a baseline tune so you can go to the dyno. THEN you can send a datalog and further refine the tune through tricktuners. A dyno tune is not a street tune. a dyno tune is for HP numbers. When you are on the road under load (wot) it is very different from when you are on a dyno. a dyno is in a controlled environment. The street is not.

weird I thought vortech sends you a chip. That stupid to have to send your whole ECU in lol.

Justin from VMP Tuning (VMP Tuning Inc) can set you up with a canned tune for a vortech kit. Then you can email him your wideband AF and handheld tuner results to dial it all in.
