Sct Xcal 3

So i am Buying this For my Car in 2 days.

I have a 2000 mustang 3.8 v6 with 55,000miles stick shift and the only mod i have right now is a CAI

My questions are

If i buy this tuner now. when i add my mac long tube headers and exhaust system in the future. how do i get my xcal3 retuned for these and will i have to pay alot for it?

Also, what can i really Do with this tuner? or is the SCT dealer really the only people that can really mess with parameters.

Basically What are the Pros and cons of this tuner and what shoud i expect for performace gains with my current ( almost stock) mods.

If you buy the tuner from joe@tricktuners (tricktuners.com) he will give you free retunes for one or two years...i dont remember exactly how long. But anytime you get a new mod you work with him and he'll make you a new tune.

There are a couple of user definable parameter's you can change, but not very many. Just things like gear ratio, spark/aif (dont mess with these unless you have a wideband and know what you are doing), tire rev/mile, and other stuff like that

No cons for tuners...

If you buy the tuner from him he will give you free tunes for a year or do you have to pay the 75 for the tune?

If you buy the tuner from me i will cut you a deal on a custom tune too. And yeah, you don't need a tune for a cat back exhaust.

I too am looking at tuning my 2003 mustang but am unsure if I should go with the SCT SF3/X3 or the 4-bank Eliminator? I don't mind pulling the computer and do like the idea of switching tunes on the fly. I have a few bolt-ons (ea. CAI, TB, TBS, and Flowmaster exhaust). I want to see a few more hp for the weekends but an economy tune for my daily commute.

Any input on the tuner vs the chip and where to buy would be great!

Thanks,

If you dont have any plans on doing bigger upgrades in the future I would say just get the chip with the switch. If you do plan on getting more power, you would need to be able to datalog so you should get the tuner

Its not that much extra to get a flash tuner. They are great to have if you ever have a problem with the car.
