Oil Level 3.8 v6

I know. well i think i know. that the 3.8 mustang takes 5 quarts of oil. i put exactly 5 quarts in every time i do an oil change. but on the dip stick the level is always in the middle between low and full. or high and low i forget.

5 qts of oil with a filter change will give an oil level halfway between the full and add mark. That's normal. It appears to be about 2 qts difference between the marks.

yeah last time I take my car to jiffy lube, it says it like over full so they didnt drain it all the way so now I have a mix or half synthetic and synthetic lol. Im going to change it again myself sometime.

never go to jiffy lube for reasons like that...i work for a Tire Lube Express and for the OP...stephen's correct...as for oil and filter...i run motorcraft for both...i used to run syntec every 3k but why mess w/ what ford likes...

as for ewells...if you go to get your oil changed, and they don't want to do a full change then take your car somewhere else...because some r-tards work at that company

i ususally do it myself...but due to a rear diff. gasket leak (will get fixed via replacing w/ an 8.8) i let walmart change it right now....$30 gets me 5 qts oil of the brand i want...the filter i want...all fluids topped off and the rear end filled...car cleaned out....worth it to me

i enjoy the do-it-yourself thing too...but i change oil for 9 hours a day at work so i don't mind letting other people do it every now and again
