why you need a new diff? unless you like blew something important up in there I'd say they are just trying to get money out of you. also when you burned out did you have both wheels spinning? cause if not you do have the 7.5 rear end but if you have an 8.8 you've got a good rear end get some 4.10s and have fun

means when the stuff broke it damaged the stuff around it. Try to find a rear end from a GT of your year, and throw it in there. It will be the 8.8" and then just buy some gears you want to throw in it. How did you break it?

the v6 doesnt have 3.55s machs do though

and a stock v6 doesnt have a 7.5
if you do then throw some 3.73s or 4.10s if the t-lok is bad get a 31spline t-lok

The spider gears in the 8.8 are only marginaly stronger than their 7.5 counterparts. And still the weakest link. If you want a stout rear, now is the time to do it. Auburn or True Trac dif and gears. Or you could spend a little more and 31 spline Auburn or True Trac dif, gears, girdle, 31 spline Moser axles and you're ready for drag slicks.
