P1413

So this code is pretty much a nightmare. Sleepless nights trying to figure this out im an unemployed mechanic at the moment so you could understand my frustration when it comes to not being able to solve this. On an early post someone changed their AIR pump a few times from a junk yard then finally got a new one and changed the EGR solenoid and EGR i bought a new AIR PUMP for almost 300 dollars with a new connector and the p1413 still popped up now a p0301 also popped up but screw that for now its all about p1413 i would think that my scan tool would throw an egr problem if it was the solenoid and egr also i just dont wanna throw parts at this thing, i try to pass inspection with only a few monitors running after i cleared the code, but the SEC air system was reading NA and so was the EVAP system. But my God this 1413 as become a pain in my ass a hole in my wallet and has me cursing like a sailor, some ford mechanics of 30 years are saying they only know it to be an air pump but it was changed. Anyone else solve the great mystery of the P1413?

I found this by googling on p1413

Ford Mustang DTC P1413

Q. Hi Mr. Vincent Ciulla, I own a 1999 Ford Mustang. Last week my Check Engine Soon light came on, and I used the scanner it read code P1413 which is a secondary air injection monitor circuit low input. Can you tell me how to fix this problem?

Thank you for your prompt attention.
Best regard,
Jason

A. It is most likely either a hose or line that fell off, broke or is kinked, or a bad A.I.R. pump. What you can do is unplug the A.I.R. pump connector. Ground the black wire and, with a 30 amp fused jumper wire, apply battery voltage to the white wire.

If the pump runs, then chances are the pump is good and the problem is with a hose. If not, then the A.I.R. pump will need to be replaced.

The link above mentions some other possibilities.

1. the code has to be reset with a code checker.

2. evidently a bad rear o2 sensor can trigger this code.

I don't know if either of these is true or not, but other people have said so.

Yeah sorry for the double post everyone i forgot to save this section and couldnt find my own post. Anyways i dont know about the rear 02 sensor as far as im conerned o2s set off their own codes. As i mentioned someone mentioned that they changed the EGR vacuum solenoid and EGR and the problem didnt comeback then again the person kept using the junkyard air pumps then when they got a new one with egr vacuum solenoid they also bought a new air pump so they solved nothing they should have left the new pump in to see if that was the problem, i might order an EGR valve vacuum solenoid and the EGR valve from motorcraft its cheaper online. My wallet cant take anymore so it might be a few days till i can scrounge up some change

Can't dump anymore money into this car . I changed the EGR vacuum solenoid the check valve that goes from the air pump to the check valve i just mentioned, oh and the EGR itself, weird thing was when i first changed the air pump it said ready for about 2 seconds and went off maybe a bad connection. Im going to take it to a shop of a guy i use to work for as a mechanic and were gonna make it a project and diagnose it when we have sparetime besides that if anyone hears anything or has ideas im open to all

p1413= upstream airflow incorrect. air injection problem

The P0411 is incorrect flow the code for my P1413 was Secondary air injection low circuit input. The guy who had the car before me rigged the hell outta this mustang the wiring next to the air pump all the way into the wiring harness and computer the copper in the inside are all fried up and on top of that i redid some of the damage done buy finding clean copper inside the wiring re-soldered and p1413 went away the p0411 was there now, but like isaid its my project mustang i wanted to put a GT engine in here i could have done that already lol, thanks for the help thought its always good to get second input
