Rev wont go past 4000 RPM.
I have 03 mustang V6.
When I rev it when its on Park it doesn't go past 4000 RPM. I keep pressing the gas and it just keep shaking at 4000 RPM. why is that? is that normal?

Ummm... Wouldn't revving it that high without the tranny engaged be hard on the motor mounts and the car in general?

Yeah not a great idea to sit and rev to limiter, but that's why it's there, to protect engine from over rev, but in a manuel in gear you can rev past that if you hit the clutch, but in neutral just sitting the rev limiter is in effect. Unless you got a tune to remove it or some other way that the ecu got f'd it'll stop at 4k.
