I had the same noise when I bought my car used. Had a leak by the gasket in the header. After 30 seconds or so the gasket swells and fills the leak. Now the one I replaced is fine and my other header is doing it. Simply - Replace the header.

yah it does sounds like a exhaust leak kinda it sounds like the right manifold i know there was a service bulitin for this problem on our cars.... i doubt its a lifter problem if it goes away and has absolutely no noise after that but when i go through drive troughs it sounds like an exhaust leak again cuz it resonates off the building but its a very faint sound

just checked if im under the hood revving it at the throttle body before it warms up it definitely sounds like an exhaust leak.

Yep - I had the identical symptom. The dealership had to fix it before I would buy the car. They said that it was a pinhole exhaust leak. They fixed the driver side and now - three weeks later - the passenger one is doing it g/l w/ repair, I got one done for free but I think this one will be expensive
