Got a Free 3.8 Engine!
Buddy of mine was rear ended, and vehicle was declared a total loss. I've helped him out with a lot of computer work, networking etc in the past and never charged him, so he gave me everything in the front bay for NOTHING. With the 3.9 I currently have installed, I wasn't planning on doing any major mods since I couldn't go long without a car, and wanted the time to buy and service as I pleased...I'm not good at saving, so once I have the money I put it in the car. So now, I have unlimited time to get this thing completely how I want it before I drop it into the car. I'm not sure as to whether I'm going turbo or supercharger yet (please no debating here), so I figured for now to take care of things that will work universally.
First up, I found this at CRT Performance Ported and polished upper intake (70mm) Ported and polished lower intake Ported and polished heads(full head, stronger .580lift springs) Power Combo 2- $1150 Anyone used them before? The pics look great. I just wonder if that's a pic of their best work, or if it's consistent with everything they do. I'm thinking of going with a bigger crankshaft (4.2?) Definitely going to want stronger rods, and pistons. Compression, I have no clue. I've never worked on anything besides bolt-ons before, except for upgrading a turbo in my old Celica, which was still just a bolt-on. What else should I look at upgrading that'll work for both a super or turbocharger? |

If you are going f/i I would deffently get a built bottom end as well as throw a cam in there. Upgrade your fuel system, tranny and rear with in time. Good luck! |

I'm assuming it will be less than 400hp when all said and done. Hoping to hit 380 or so.

Free 3.8? Sounds like a good paper weight.
Just kidding man, That's great that he hooked you up like that.
