Gas Filter


Alright this is a stupid question and maybe commom sense but i want to change my gas filter but if you take off the filter the book saz it will leak but does ur gas tank have to be empty or will it stop after it drains the lines

i usually relieve pressure from my system by removing the fuse to the fuel pump and running the engine till it stalls then remove the filter and you will have minimal leakage

so once u take that out turn it on until it dies how long does it usually run before

Also depends on what style fuel system you have. If you have a 99+ you have a returnless fuel system which always has pressure on the lines, but if you have a 98- fuel system you have the return systel fuel system which alleviates the pressure, and makes it a bit easier to do the job in my opinion...which that is something I have comming up.

in the trunk you have a gas pump kill, i forgot the actual name but disconnect it before you change the filter

facing the rear of the car its behind the carpet on the right side on the fender i think my tempo that i had the subs kept throwing the kill switch cuz of vibrations kept thinking i got in a collision lol
