99 3.8L 30k miles performance issues

Already Installed:
2.5" Flowmaster Dual Exhaust (No H or X Pipe)
Cold Air Intake
16" Rims from 2004 Model
225/60/16 Tires
Runs:
Synthetic Oil
89 Octane

I was told to get my internals forged or something and get pistons installed instead of swapping for a 5.0. Apparently, some people claim the 3.8 is a strong engine and can handle a sh*t load of work. I plan on changing my gears to 4.10s in my 7.5 rear. but, what else should I do to it? what about the pistons or forged internals or whatever? I won't do this myself, I'll take it somewhere, but I'd like to know what I need to make this car better performance wise.

the 3.8 is a pretty hardcore block you won't need forged internals until you get into some higher miles or if you go forced induction. THe forged internals will give you better performance. Also when you get gears go ahead and get t-lok as well.

so, I shouldn't change the pistons and whatnot then? I was told to do so for better flow-age.

I mean it isn't something you have to do with your set up it will get you about 40 horses and allow you to put more power on the internals later.

ah. its good to have people who know what they are talking about when it comes to this stuff because, I am clueless! Iwas looking to upgrade it, but i only have 1000 to work with, so, I was looking for inexpensive things to do to it to make it faster.

yeah, I could afford maybe a quarter of all that stuff without the install so, I am going to have to go another route on this car.. or, maybe just leaving the thing stock and fogetting all about my hopes and dreams... ha

your motor now will not need forged internals
without spending huge money you could finish your bolt ons, get a power pak($1800)4.10s and t-lok would keep you axle safe and engine safe with stock internals

you can do both
actually both would be better and you'd have more power
but a stroker kit isnt cheap
your lookin at about $3.5-$4k after install

a power pak idlk how much it would cost to install
i will know one day thouhg
