Auto to Manual swap?

I have a v6 03 mustang with 70k on it. I really like the car and it runs very good. Just had couple of problems in the beginning because of installation I done myself. Like tuneup and etc.

Anyway I am planning on putting a supercharger on it, Long tube headers and more of that good stuff. I dont think a stock auto transmission will handle all this. So my question is. should I swap in a manual transmission if so where can I get the parts from other than junk yard?

Also do long tube headers make much difference? Sound, performance?

The auto trans can handle all of that, but a manual is better

LT's do make a difference, that's a key part in your exhaust set-up, if you're getting new exhaust definitely include long tube headers. (NOT shorties unless you're going to run a turbo set-up, the stock headers aren't too bad compared to aftermarket shorties).

Your auto will easily handle the power. If you want to do the swap, find someone who is parting their car, and you can get everything you need from them for cheap.

Don't know anyone specific who has them, search the net for product reviews on them. MAC is the "golden standard."

Regardless what headers you get, make sure they are ceramic coated. The price on the headers you link are a great price, anywhere else and they are atleast $300 from what I've seen. let us know if you get them, and leave us a review.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 4R70W is a bit stronger than the t-5 and can hold up to a lot more. I was really considering the swap too until I heard about how much weaker the t-5 was, so I figure if I really want to when I'm done modding the car I'll fab a 6 speed to put in it.

I would go with the 6-speed if I was going thru the trouble of swapping out a trans. At the very least get an aluminum driveshaft and flywheel too if you are messing with the trans, that way you can loosing up some HP by reducing the rotational mass.
