what would i need to swap from a manual trans to an auto?

Why do you want to? Most likely it would be more cost and time effective to just sell your car and buy a similar model with an auto. What year/mileage is your car?

Yeah that's what I was going to say^ But now the hard part will be to find a mechanic that will do it for cheap.
