Hardwire GPS

I have a Garmin 250W (i believe) and am looking to hardwire it so I don't have so many damn wires. I hardwired my radar detector without any glitches however I bought the Hardwire kit from Cobra. I haven't had too much luck in my search for a Garmin hardwire and am pretty certain you don't need it anyways... How do I use the factory power cord to hardwire the damn thing? I payed a visit to the local car audio place to see if they had the wiring and he told me it would cost me $100 so I told him to pretty much screw off, lol.

I got the 200W, i drilled a small hole in the dashboard of the stang, and ran the wire down behind the radio, side of the shifter, through the console, and plugged the aux end into the cigg light inside my middle console. hides the wires perfect. even got a rubber grommet sitting inside the hole to protect the edges of it. looks good.

There should only be a + and - wire in the cable for the GPS. Look and see how much a replacement cable is and experiment. Cut the end off and if it is only the 2 wires you should be good to go. Most everything that plugs into your aux power point is only a + and - wire.
