Honda vs the 3.8

Well I raced my friend in his 01' honda prelude today.. he says it is a "SH" and has a 2.2l v-tec and all that mumbo jumbo and when I asked him what he has in it he says its stock.. so i am like how can a honda take me? anyways this isnt a kill story .. he wants to trade my 5.0 + 1500 dollars (bad body damage w/ good motor and tranny) for his prelude (84K miles fully paid off) and his a 5 speed.. i am just coming down to is prelude a better bet at a speed demon than my car? i know the prelude gets better gas milage than my mustang but i want a daily driver and a race car.. the 5.0 isnt really good for either to me.. so my delima is maybe i should ditch the 3.8 and save for a 4.6 new edge.. what do you guys think?

i understand.. but what do i have to lose.. the prelude weighs less has more power gets better gas milage and still looks good. it has nothing to do with it being a v-tec

yeah i never knew that honda made preludes quick like that.. the only hondas i thought were fast were ones sporting the "Si" emblem or the S2000s but that prelude was quick and it looked good too he gets about 24mpg in the city.. which is about 7 more than i get.. and i like that because its paid off and will give me time to save up money for another mustang that i can make into a racer

i am pretty dead set.. and i would throw all that "ricer" stuff on it.. like a muffler and CAI just because they make it look nicer and give alil better gas milage.. i def wouldnt get a loud muffler haha NO ONE should want to sport the dirt bike sound of a honda..

v8 sound till i die baby

I give a +1 to that but I like the 3.8 block better than the 4.6 personally.

i would.. it would be cheaper... on gas insurance and you wouldnt have to buy a new car.. with the money you could save from that the 6er would be one hell of a beast

thats what i was thinking too lol.. the weigh vs a v8 too.. w/ the prelude i would be ok taking the motor out and rebuilding the car and gutting it because i dont need it anymore.. lol i am starting to love the way this sounds.. i could even put it on slicks and just put it on my dads trailer to the races =) sounds bad.. haha turbo v6.. tearing up cobras at the track

it can happen... as for the prelude.. theres a place in texas.. i cant remember the name that imports engines strait from japan... in japan they haveta change ther engines around 50,000 miles.. my friend got his engine for about 1500 shipped to Alabama and it had less that 40,000 on it
