So the first thing I should get is a tuner and a cai? This being my first car and everything I'm still trying to learn

first mods that most everybody gets are: cold air intake (some are better than others for the s197, so dont go cheap), dual exhaust, and a handheld tuner. there are several handheld tuners to get, just research which one fits you. usually the xcal3 works well for most people. SCT is a very good brand for tuners, not only for quality, but they have many liscenced dealers all over the country.

i got a cai then exhaust then tuner, but for performance and not sound, i would get the cai and tuner combo first.

All true, but i have to say one thing on your last sentence....For the s197 stangs make sure you get your tuner with your cai. The motor in the s197 pretty much requires a retune unlike our new edges that we can do intake and exhaust and not even worry about a tune until much later

Yeah that's a good CAI/tune. These are the reusable air filters, yes? Get a filter cleaner kit and learn how to clean it properly. My dealer does it for me at each oil change.

It could if your Dealer is a jerk. Anything we do can void out warranty. My dealer actually told me if I put STEEDA suspension on my ride and I had a tranny problem, he would in fact, VOID my warranty. BUT if I put FRPP suspension,, they would not void it. Go figure....

IF you improperly cleaned your air filter on the new CAI for example..that COULD wreck your engine. That's why I have my dealer do it..no one to blame but them if it's done wrong. That's why I asked if FRPP made one. However....not much goes wrong on our cars.

Do you have a FORD warranty or is it a different company? You said it's an 08 so I assume it's a used one, yes? Those other vendor warranties can be very difficult and they will look for anything to not pay for a repair.
