Just got my first mustang

I just got a 2008 v6 mustang a couple of days ago and I would like to make alot of mods to it over the next couple of years. I was wondering what should be the first thing I need to buy to start me off.

First-CONGRATULATIONS on your new baby! Can't wait to see pics.

Second...if I have a V6 there's a few things I'd do

CAI & Tune and modify the exhaust to duals.

I know the Borla dual exhaust runs about $1100, you will need a GT bumper OR they include a template to cut yours..I'd look for a GT bumper. So if I guestimate if you job out the labor & Bumper install...$2000

CAI is usually a do it yourself project. Around $350 average. Get like C & L or other-help me out guys, I have STEEDA, however there are better values out there and generally all the same. The tune however is the important part for you. I have a conservative STEEDA tune with SCT programmer. Take it to a professional tuner and you'll be happy. I think a good pro tuner is $500. You'll get more HP maybe 15 at the wheels and increase your torque substantially.

I'm new to all of this and I live in a small city so where can I find a professional tuner?

Probably..but I bought STEEDA CAI/Tune so I may be the wrong person to ask. I wonder...anyone ever checked Ford Racing to see if they make one for a 6er?? FRPP is not a bad brand and I am planning on using their suspension pkg next year.

Does STEEDA come with the sct tunes included? They normally do <mine did>and that is a fair package imo. JLT also has nice CAI and I think they have V6 too.

Now where to get a pro tuner....couple of suggestions. Post up in your area section here and see who everyone knows. Where are you? Is there a local Stang club in your area? There may be and that is a great source. I love MM and my local club.

There are mail order tunes also. It sounds like this would be the first Mod for you. It's relatively affordable and will make a difference for you. But maybe some Locals can assist you with info.

I know 2 great tuners in the Chicago area..Kurgan and Mike Post-fabulous reputations for their work. But that isn't going to help you.

Let me add...don't put junky stuff on your ride EVER. Pay the money for quality, the car is an expensive toy and important to put quality in it. There are very knowledgable people on here that know far more than I, they will steer you to the right direction.

Yes that tuner will be okay. The max horsepower for your stang is
450-475 on the stock short block.
