car running weird after fill up

its been doing this for a while and i cant figure out for anything what it is. after putting gas in the car (whether its a lot or a little) it still runs rich and will fumble over itself at idle. drives fine but still stumble a good bit for about 4 or 5 minutes after putting gas in the car.

i've tried getting gas at the same place several times, getting it different places, etc. but it still does it.

once that 4 or 5 minutes is up it gets itself straight and doesnt do it anymore but for some reason right after i fill up it runs bad. any ideas?

Weird that it runs fine after a few minutes...I mean beyond your tune (I'm not much help in that area) I would go over everything fuel related, filter, lines, injectors (clean & functioning)... but still odd if it were one of those that it's no issue after warming up. That's a tricky one.

well when you open your gas cap its releasing all that pressure that was inside the tank, after 5 minutes it builds it up again and starts working fine, that would be my guess

^ But does this happen to your car? Not mine, so I wouldn't just pass it off as normal function, pressure should build up again rather quickly when restarting.

also id try throwing a bottle of heet in it, you could possibly be mixing everything in the bottom of the tank with the new gas, you might have alittle bit of water in there that sits on top of the gas like little bee bees and are getting sucked in

thats what im saying, his might not be building up as quickly as most cars because his cap might not seal tight or he might have a slow leak some where

^ Ok I got you now, it seemed like you meant it was just normal, but a leak is indeed possible, why I said check all fuel components, still an odd issue.

thas kinda what i thought that there could be something in there acting up along with the gas. as far as i know there are no leaks. i mean it goes rich for i would say that its plenty fuel. the water thing might be it. not sure how it would have gotten water in but that kinda makes sense. how much of that heet are you supposed to put in? and is that stuff still safe for the turbo.

Have you tried takeing the fuel cap off then putting it back on to see if it still does that? Try that, and check the fuel cap for any damage.
