Another day, another mustang


Well i after letting my brother suffer for about 2 weeks of not being able drive his car i figured id put it on the stands today and get a good look at the problem, didnt have to look very far, took off a 11mm bolt and looky what i found

Bearings ! yay lol, so clutch job this weekend/tonight

That's the same thing that happened to my car but I got lucky cuz I bought the car with a new clutch already.... Time for a new TOB= throw out bearing or new clutch.

Might as well upgrade the clutch if you're taking it out. Just putting in a new tob isnt worth it to me.

Obviously it would depend on the mileage already on that clutch, but it looks like he plans on doing a clutch job.

^ yeah, only 60k on the car, clutch still looked good, alittle warn down but not bad

however the tob was in peices lol

all in peices on the ground, ill take a few pictures tomorrow morning

well i got everything out, tomorrow going to run to napa or autozone and pick up a pilot bearing puller, and then put a new one in, real seal looks to be ok, doesnt leak or anything looks dry around all the seal areas, worth replacing? and how hard is it

Nice pics, especially the one with the guy in the middle of the clutch disk. I'm assuming you meant to do that? Otherwise that would be freaky. The rear seal sounds fine, I wouldn't bother.

Rear main seal wasn't hard to replace, be EXTREMELY careful removing it if you do so, it is normally recommeded if you have all that off already, cheap too. Don't forget resurfacing/new flywheel, I'm sure you know what's up if you've already got all that off already, just did all this myself...
