That's not bad... Seeing how Ford's are known for their reliability and all.

Actually I've seen plenty of Mustangs over the 150k hump, so I wouldn't be surprised if his ran like a charm... For awhile at least.

Iknow that a V8 will handle that but with the sixxer he will soon need to rebuild the engine....

You think so? I've read (I think even on this forum) that the sixxer is built pretty well, without much engine work needed prior to 140k usually.

What he needs to be worried about is the infamous TOB, which will go out soon if it hasn't already.

Yeah that's true about the mileage but since it will be daily driven reaching +140 will be soon, so that's why I said he will need a new one or a rebuild....

yeah he need to freshen that motor, I got mine cheap with a rod-knocking and when i pulled the motor all of the other bearings looked really bad at 140k. New seals, gaskets rings, bearings and oil pump set me back about $300..$100 for head re-surfacing. Took me a week to do all by myself working on my off hours, with out a engine hoist either not a mechanically difficult job really, just hot, sweaty, dirty job...and getting that motor lined up to the bellhousing and back on the mounts is tough to do by yourself, you gotta see above and below the engine at the same time and its hard for one guy to do that shit! LOL

If the motor is taken care of it can run past 200k miles. My other v6 ran great and it was at 140k. As stated it received a new transmission less than 300 miles ago so the TOB won't be an issue. I'm only going to be driving it for a couple months anyways. Oh and if the engine was bad I wouldn't rebuild it. I'd find a complete engine on craigslist for $250 and install it.

the problem is that the used ones usually have been abused so you cant control what was already done to it..and rebuilding is better than swapping with another motor that may be just as bad, I dont trust anything until I see it myself..I gotta see those internals...If they guy is selling it for $250 then he doesnt trust it either! Rebuild is only $50 more and its like a new engine when Im done with it.

I cant make out the color on that thing..Maroon?? The wheels arent that bad really, they jus dont go with the car itself.

No they're not bad at all (I would recommend selling them personally), however just doesn't work with that style Mustang... Gotta say they probably wouldn't look too bad on a new edge, what size are they?

Give it a good thorough tune up and she'll do you good, you'll probably see an improvement in mpg as well.
