clarification on lowering
so far i have done a decent amount of work on the engine of my car, but now i want to get some handling. what are the springs that most of you recommend for lowering. i dont want to go to low, but i want it to have a sporty, non 4x4 stance
. i will have a 03-04 cobra bumper coming in, and i would rather not scrape it up like my last bumper.also, can someone tell me how low it has to be to need cc plates?

i think 2 inches requires cc plates. Eibach makes two kits, one for 2 inch, and one for 1.5. The 1.5 doesn't require cc plates.

well, on a mustang, a shop can allign it fine with just 1.5 drop with the stop setup.

Eibach or H&R will be your best option.....

i was looking at the eibach prokit on AM because it doesn't lower a lot and i would be able to go over speed bumps without scraping while getting rid of that 4x4 look. i think i will skip the cc plates unless i start having bad problems with tire wear.

^ I have the same springs, look at my garage for all my mods. You WILL scrape on speed bumps, you WILL get rid of that 4x4 look, and you WILL need cc plates. Prokit claims 1.5" drop, with my set up I am 1.75" lower than stock ride height at the side skirt. Scrape on damn near everything. Without cc plates the camber would be terrible. I say do it all right off the jump and forget about it. CC plates aren't that expensive. All that being said I'm happy with my suspension set up, but will be going to a smaller front tire once these are done with to lessen the rub.

I've always heard good things about H&R springs, they offer a few different sets depending on how low you want

You can get this ones... Ford racing they're cheap and good, they will lower your car 1.25 rear and front.

i have the prokit on mine and its just perfect.
no cc plates, alignment is fine. i do scrape if go over speed bumps straight, but slight angle takes care of it

If you're really looking for handling, H&R springs with a significantly higher spring rate than stock would be the better choice. Of course, you the increase in spring rate makes it even more important that you upgrade your shocks and struts.

Meh, I could measure the clearance for you after work...it's not like my nuts drag but as johnson said, sideways over bumps and steep driveways or my manifolds scrape... really you can go without the cc plates, I did everything at one time to not worry about it, so I can't say how the car would be without them, but in my estimation, the way the camber is now (still not perfect, but no noticeable uneven wear and looks nice) I just wouldn't want to know how it was without them. I also put steeda ball joints and their bumpsteer kit on at the same time, so again I don't know what it would have been like without, but I'm glad I did.

yeah i installed the h&r kit to drop it 1.5 inches a few months ago
it was great and easy to install but i dunno how much lower you would wanna get with the cobra bumper, you really do scrape all over speedbumps and entrances to stores and stuff and that cobra bumper looks good but it wouldnt after a few speedbumps, it seems like itd be too low for everyday driving |

I got some steeda competition springs... i like them alot! 1.2" drop... and as goren420 said get CC plates... I tried to go without cc plates the first week and i would hear alot of clanking going on... once i got my MM CC plates it fixed the issue.... You will want some shocks/struts aswell

eibach pro kit
you WILL end up getting a camber kit no matter WHAT spring setup you go with. wether it be C-springs or a 2.5inch drop.

I also have the pro-kit, and exactly what you said. Just go over the speed bumps at an angle and you won't scrape. Also no cc plates on mine and my alignment is fine. I HIGHLY recommend the pro-kit. You won't be sorry
