Suspension Build Help

My car is still under warranty for another 3 years so instead of fuckin with the engine and exhaust for now I have decided to totally overhaul the suspension first. Im talking new performance brakes, rotors, springs, tower braces, camber plates, control arms, subframe connectors, bumpsteer kit, shocks and struts, and sway bars, and leavin the engine and drive train under warrenty.

I need help with who manufactures the best products for these different areas for a 2004 mustang v6

on the suspension portion of that i would recommend just buying a kit all from one company it is recommended to stay with one company rather than have different suspension parts from different companies. And on the brakes idk unless you have plans to road race or make some serious power i would just recommend getting better pads there is no need to get new calipers with more pistons and slotted and cross drilled rotors. Unless you just like the look of the rotors.

Thanks for the tip on the suspension, the reason I asked about brakes and calipers is cuz Im either going to eventually twin turbo my v6 or drop in a supercharged v8 with all the other necessary engine and drivetrain upgrades. So to put it simply I guess im lookin to overbuild a suspension so it could easily handle being abused by whatever power and torque I could get out of either the twin turbo v6 or a supercharged v8. This is my DD so I want a suspension that will not only perform to me abusing it on the track but also offer great performance on the street during rain, winding roads, and maybe snow on a day to day basis

Ok so while looking around I found this suspension kit by Maximum Motorsports:

1999-04 Mustang GT Maximum Grip Box includes

* MM K-member (with 2-point brace)
* MM Front Control Arms
* MM Torque-arm
* MM Panhard Bar
* MM XL Series Full-length Subframe Connectors
* MM Coil-over Conversion Kits, Front and Rear
* Coil-over springs
* MM Caster/Camber Plates
* MM Aluminum Rear Lower Control Arms
* Bilstein HD series struts
* Bilstein HD series shocks
* MM Adjustable Rear Swaybar
* MM Aluminum Steering rack Bushings
* MM Solid Steering Shaft
* MM Bumpsteer Kit (adjustable outer tie-rod ends)
* MM Strut Tower Brace
* MM Front Swaybar Relocation Kit
* Front Swaybar Bushings
* Front Swaybar End Links

The total package is $4,537.80 not including shipping, plus I would pay for the performance shop near me to swap everything out. Is this a pretty good deal or would it be cheaper to buy all the parts seperate??

That's some serious suspension work If I were you I will post this thread in the gt section, Imo dont install all that if you don't have your hp/tq numbers first, it will be a waiste cuz some of those things are only needed at really high hp levels...

Right now Im planning on dropping in a 351w when the 6er craps out, but its gonna be a while before that happens so I wanna get all the suspension work done first so that way when I get the 351w pushin 400hp I can just drop it in with the rest of the swap parts and be ready to haul ass

I am leading up to a 351w swap so an 8.8 rear is pretty much required for swap so i was gonna get it then

This article will give you some idea of what can be done to the Mustang suspension. Notice that it discusses suspension modifications needed when the car is lowered.

Late Model Mustang Suspension Basics

As to brakes, there are already dual piston calipers in front, which should be adequate. As someone else said the most you might want to do is to go with better pads and possibly slotted rotors,

You can't go wrong with Maximum Motorsports. You would have an EXCELLENT handling Mustang with that setup. Be sure to talk to them about spring rates as to whether you want it to be setup for drag, street, handling, or something in between.

In order to use Maximum Motorsports Torque Arm, you NEED an 8.8. It will not fit a 7.5" rear.

The ProKit does not notably increase the spring rate, so it is not the best choice for handling improvement. The ProKit is a good choice if you're looking for an inexpensive way to lower your car. If you want handling, there are better choices... if you are looking for lower AND significantly better handling, there are better choices.

No offense, but that is false.

NONE of the above items are "only needed at really high hp levels."

If you're looking for a really tight, quality suspension setup in your Mustang, that is a good list to follow whether you've got a 600hp KB Cobra or a 100hp 4-cylinder Fox.

The reason why I said that was because he wanted less than a 2" drop

your looking at an easy $1500-2000 in suspension

might as well look into just a full steeda kit honestly
most have shocks, springs, roll bar, sway bars, plates, bushings, control arms and everything your looking for
