Mustang starts up funny

Hey guys,

Every morning, when I start up my Mustang, it takes a few seconds to kick over, and occasionally clicks after, loud enough to where my parents can hear it inside the house.

It usually only does it in the morning or after I haven't started up my car for a while (like when I get off work).

I thought the solenoid might be going bad, but I had a friend look at it, and he says the starter seems to be fine, and that it could be dirty fuel injectors, and the clicking is something to do with my air conditioning.

Does anybody have an idea of what it is? +rep for anybody that helps me fix it <3

why would your air conditioning be clicking when you start your car? clicking during cranking usually is the starter solenoid trying to fire. what year car is it?

Thats what I was wondering. And the click only happens immediately after the car has started.

sounds like the solenoid isnt releaseing the bendix or something have someone crank the car while you lisen under the hood. once you pinpoint where its coming from post back. what kind of car>

I would say that its a 99-04 V6, what kind of click?

It is a 99-04. Its a short, loud click after the engine turns over. My mom said she can hear it from upstairs.

Is it a possibility that my fuel injectors are clogged?

fuel injectors cant click loud enough for your mom to hear it.

does it just do it then or any other time? first of all check all your fluids and make sure you have enough oil in the car. do you have any sound clips of this. a general noise is hard to diagnose a problem without hearing it yourself.

Have someone start the car for you while you're in the engine bay and try to figure out where the click is coming from
