V8 conversion or turbo

dannygraves Newbie Join Date: Feb 2007 Posts: 11	V8 conversion or turbo I'm not new to either concept, I've done motor swaps in other cars and used to have a built 550hp mitsu staion that was pushing 26psi of boost. I want the v8 grunt, but feel like I'd get more bang for my buck with a turbo kit. I have a wire feed and know how to use it, so I would make my own plumbing. But I notice v8 motors on ebay for super cheep, I was thinking about maybe a mark VIII motor, or the 5.4 from a '04+ f150 or even the 32v navigator 5.4. What do you guys think? Thanks Danny

A swap in the 94+ stangs is difficult not as bad with the foxes. dannygraves Newbie Join Date: Feb 2007 Posts: 11	it a '00 v6 auto convertable, same color as yours. no other mods, but I figured the plumbing kit will take care of the exhaust and intake stuff, so all else would be forged internals and a cam and maybe porting work, but I'v got a healthy low mileage motor, so I gues I'd just run low boost, like 6-8psi

If you have the money get heads, cam,intake, forged internals and the turbo. If your going to do it, do it big. It would be one hell of a car. yeah, see, I don't want to be to that point, I feel like I'd rather go through the effort of a v8 swap first and have a better platform to built up on.
What do you guys think would be the best v8 to start with? 5.4? mark VIII? or just a sohc 4.6? Winsor?

DOHC 4.6 or 5.4L both cobra engines.
