smog after engine swap?

so, I'm thinking about possibly doing a v8 swap or turbo (after resolving my suspension woes), how would that work with smog?
I could keep most of the emissions equipment with a turbo swap, or with a v8 swap I could keep all smog stuff, but I'm wondering what are the rules about smog with mods like that?

BTW, I live in NV so most smogs are just plugging into the obd2

if you get a turbo kit from TMA you'll be good. and almost any turbo wont have you failing any test if its tuned and built right

a v8 swap well clearly wont fail any test if all is installed correctly

yeah, I'm just wondering if there are any laws against swapping a v8. I used to be a wrench at a place that did smogs and I remember one guy getting refused becasue he didn't have the carb paperwork for his headers. But of coarse that was in commifornia.
