Re: rear gears and gas mileage
70mph stock = 60mph 4.10s or 2400 rpms was 70 stock, now 2400 rpms is 60, and 75mph is at 3k rpms on the nose.

my 7.5 rear holds up fine with an auto tranny and drag radials. if you launched from 5k rpms with slicks, you will more than likely break it, but the 28 splines in the 8.8 are not going to be good race axles either. look into 31 spline mosers if you are planning on serious power.

future mods, type of driving its used for MOST if you plan on modding the hell out of your car depending on what mad you get, turbo, nitrous, s/c, everything but FI..all will vary if you can open up the rpm range more and you race alot 4.10s i would say isnt even the choice, 4.30 or 4.56 if your conna be racing on a n/a car with or with out nitrous. if your just gonna eventually through on a s/c or turbo on there, and not upgrading the internals, heads or cam. i wouldnt get 4.10 or high 3.90 or 3.73s
