This seems appropriate here.

piston rings are cheap....its just the part that the motor must be taken out and torn down completely pretty much to change them...only thing that can stay is the crank...and while your there you'd might as well spend a little extra cash changing those bearings

As for the tranny, there was nothing wrong. The noise was the spark knock. Ive never ran into that and it sounded like it was a tranny problem. But the tranny dude screwed me over and i needed all new bearings inside. And my tranny was perfectly fine. Now i have to get the clutch adjusted.

ok calm down everyone. he gets it, he was just a little nervous. i know that he should not have started his car, but he did and he knows what he needs to do. and i mean i know that it would be tough for me not to start it, becasue it is your new upgrades and your impatient, it is human nature. I mean now he knows and lets just hope it is not anything. maybe some little mess up that is easily fixed. and i mean he really wanted help. and i know he asked for help but i think he gets it. i think it is enough said.

who said anything about starting his car?
I installed a stock 01 short block with a turbo kit, ported heads, an after market grinded cam, porting intakes other new misc mods with some temporary tune...ran the car for 30min then drove it for 1-2weeks then finally got it tuned...
whose to say my tune was better then his? considering that same tune was loaded from when I blew the first motor.

and if its about being mature why go on a site to ask a question then be pissed off when you get an answer...it makes no sense. thats not only immature but retarded

It will vary. Do the test and post the numbers back here. More or less you are looking for close readings brtween all 6 cylinders.
Do you know how to properlly check compression??
