that's at least 3 people telling you to get a wide band. It's your car man. I'm not sure why you have the animosity towards me honesty. Did I say something that ticked you off?

I am just looking out for you honestly.

Get a dyno tune honestly. Sending data and having someone tune it over the internet is a pain. Takes many datalogs.

and for the love of god don't do anything again like you did in the videos until it is tuned. N/A A/F is way leaner than boosted, and without a tune you are running lean as hell.

its POINTLESS helping you, YOU'RE NOT getting another answer for why your motor is smoking. its smoking cause you blew a ring! you have a nasty amount of blow by. it probably gets worse while running and when the car gets hotter
you never did a compression test cause you dont know how. You dont want to hear that your motor is blown so you say that to hope that maybe its some other crazy idea the guys on the forum can come up with
Guess what! its NOT!
only 2 things will cause that
A- you have blow by!
B- you lite a cig and throw it in the catch....everytime you run the car

something tells me its NOT B.

IF YOU CANNOT LISTEN TO ADVICE YOU WONT GET ANY!

its beyond obvious you werent going to do a compression test for whatever reason your ignorant ways have lead you. clearly we know more then you...at least some. thats why your asking for help. OUR HELP

theres no other solution to your smoke. running rich will not cause that smoke to come from there. running lean will not either. HAVING A BAD TUNE WILL NOT EITHER! the tune has NOTHING AT ALL to do with that smoke coming out from that location PERIOD.

time to face the music and next time do it right before you punch the car

Ever see what detonation can do to a motor?

That "pinging" noise is detonation which is one of the worst things you can do to an engine, almost 100% caused by improper tuning.

I'll even advise you quit driving the car until you inspect the short-block. And now it's going to cost you money, at least some bearings and gaskets, and a lot of time. If that blow-by was caused by detonation, you more than likely have a damaged compression ring and or piston ring land and failure to address the problem could ruin your block and or cylinder head.

The picture is an extreme case. Usually the piston ring lands are cracked or collapsed, the compression rings are broken, the piston dome of a cast piston is cracked and or has a hole dug in it.

I hope you didn't see any flakes of aluminum on your spark plugs when you did your compression test, that is a sure sign of detonation damage.

Minimum: gaskets, bearings, piston rings.

This could get expensive quick however.

It could actually be a blown head gasket though too. I don't know how the Mustang 6cyl. reacts when the head gaskets blow, all engines are different, but I had a S-10 4cylinder and a Saturn 4 cylinder both with blown head gaskets, both pumping air out of the valve cover, even more than the video.

Cross your fingers, would be easier and cheaper than tearing down the whole block.

this is sort of true. the pre 99s have the head gasket problems generally at 80k miles or more.
but the catch can is whats blowing smoke. a head gasket would be white smoke burning only out the exhaust. the catch can just collects w/e smoke, pressure etc through the valve covers. only blow by would seep through there.
but to the OP i'd listen to him. stop running your car.
more then likely you got boost happy and stepped on it a little and it lead to this. I can garuntee it. I'd bet the turbo in my car you did.so while your timing was off and a bad tune or no tune it cause a piston ring to fry and most likely cracked or crushed a ring land or more. #6 is generally the most common.

but your better off getting or finding a new short block or entire V6 motor. $200-300 and just dropping that in there

And TUNE it before you blow that one too!

I'm not picking on you, take it in stride. I've made a lot of mistakes in the last 16 years I've been playing with cars. Ever see what happens when you install the pressure regulator spring the wrong way in an automatic transmission? I don't know what was worse, seeing my friends face when I took his trans apart for the SECOND time, having to buy him a new trans because 2 pistons and a clutch basket were destroyed, or having to let him use my car for a week while I fixed my mistake...

Live and learn... You will be laughing about it a few years from now.

And get a damn WB o2 already!

I agree with itschristorres8 He knows these motor's and so do i since i work at a ford dealer as a auto tech. We are not trying to be dick's or assholes to you but you really need to listen we are trying to help you out. it doesn't matter if u drove the car or idled it for a min if u hit boost at all then u fucked something up not just that but i don't think u have the right spark plugs and with 42lb injectors your spraying way to much fuel into the cylinders which will foul your plug's you need a tune badly but only after you really do a compression and a cylinder leak down test.

lol been there done that
I've blown
- 3 motors, 2 stock 1 built,
-2 trannys 1 stock 1 built(shattered the piss out of the built actually, shredded 3rd gear and the syncro and snapped the main shaft...500whp for a 600hp rated tranny...
-and blow 2 rear

everyone will learn when trying to go fast, generally your never going to have a case where there was a guy that made a bunch of power with no issues.

Even one guy thats spent $9k on just a 4.3L long block, $5-6K on his turbo setup. had it assembled has blown a head gasket

WHEN YOU TRY TO MAKE POWER YOU WILL BLOW period. things happen man.
I did the same crap. I have a video on youtube. first ride in the v6 when i installed the turbo. AFTER MARKET MAF! only 4psi...stock injectors and i floored it with a STOCK tune in the car. i just got lucky nothing happend

Yea. Well i no you guys told me so but i would appreciate it if you didnt make that comment.

Today i had no choice but to drive my car to work. Only 7 min away so i wasnt worried. I wasnt beating on it and i was taking it easy. I got to work no worries. But i was driving home and i noticed smoke coming out of the hood. So i pulled over opened the hood and oil everywhere. I found out that the dipstick popped up causing this. So i pushed the dipstick back in and drove for about 30 seconds and pulled back over. The dipstick popped out again and oil is everywhere. So im guessing the rings are screwed.
On top of that i made an oil catch can and i already filled it up with the minimal driving i did with it. Thats why i think the rings are screwed.

Ya the rings are shot, that is blow by of compression gasses causing that. I would just buy a used block with everything and just install it. Now you know. That really sucks tho man.

We tried to tell you not to drive it without tuning, now what could have been prevented buy a simple 400-500$ tune is going to cost you 1000$ or more.
