No replacement for displacement... 5.4L, that v-6 would probably cost as much to rebuild if you did it right, let alone try to build it. If your going to swap the motor, do it right.

Props if you want to keep the V6... I'm building a 2.9l Ford from a Ranger, MP90 SC 5 speed 4wd in my jeep, just to be different. I could more easily take the SBC out of the corner of my shop, smack a blower on it and drop it in, probably easier, defiantly cheaper, or even go TT for even less and be like everyone else...

Which ever you decide, if you need custom parts, PM me, I'm a machinist and fabricator, certified welder. Anything is possible.

Exactly...You shouldn't have gotten into boost at all without a tune.

I'm down with the 5.4l swap though Do it!

Tried to tell you i have worked on those car's at ford you give them any boost with out a tune and you will cause damages. Sorry to hear thou you can contact SSM and go with a built 4.2L that will be strong enough for boost or get a junk yard motor and boost that the stock block and internals can take about 8psi but thats with a tune and the right plug's and fuel 91 or higher.

the 4.3L is the same as the 4.2L just the block is bored out if you go mach or termi you will need to do a lot of work you need a different k member and all the computers and wiring for those motor's it's a big job just finished throwing a mach motor in a kid's v6 cost him labor alone almost 20 grand and he also had to buy a k member and new computers you best beat for the money is going with a 4.2L kit from ssm and then going F/I the kit from ssm is made to handle boost.

For a Ford technician, you seem to need quite a bit of help wth your car

random engine problem - 3.8 Mustang Message Board

94-95 is one group. all 94-95 factory V6, GT, and Cobra k-members are the same
96-04 is the other group. all 96-04 factory V6, GT, and Cobra k-members are the same

if you want to put a 3.8 in one of those cars you can use either k-member. just buy 3.8 mounts that match the year of the k-member.

if you want to put a 5.0 or 351 in one of those cars you must use a 94-95 k-member. use 94-95 5.0 mounts.

if you want to put a 4.6 or 5.4 in one of those cars you must use a 96-04 K-member. use 96-04 4.6 mounts

i didnt have a problem until you pulled the "im a Ford tech, i know more than you" bullshit.

i have seen plenty of techs who dont know shit, why should your word be better than mine?

if tech are so great, then why did they try and program my 98's keyless entry remote using the 99-present programming procedure? see that it didnt work, then proceed to tell me my car doesnt have keyless

why did they replace my father's front driver's strut in his 2007 because of rattling when it was actually the power window buttons rattling in the door panel?

oh you must have been away from the shop for quite a while...

go to the ssm website you don't have to bore the cylinders unless they are damaged. check out the site and email ssm if you go with a built internals i think you should be good for like 18psi with the correct injector's and maf and tune

you will need to bore the block if you want to go to 4.3L or if the cylinders are damaged

here's the list from there website on the internals

Whatever you do 4.2 or 4.3 your going to have to bore the block...

from ssms the 4.3Long rod apparently uses longer rods, different than the 4.2... Then your going to need a shop to put everything together, prob gonna want new cam bearings while your in the motor. And if your tearing into it this deep may as well do heads/cam while your at it to save labor. Full gasket set, all that fun stuff
