06 Exhuast. HELP

OK, I got a 2006 Mustang V6. I am looking to convert to Dual Exhaust. I was thinking American Thunder mufflers, however I am not sure where ot get a good kit. I need it to be street legal so using the stock cats is prefered.

I was wondering, will a factory 06 GT exhuast setup bolt on to my V6?
I am a college student so money is a factor. So the requirments must be:

Cost efficient
Mandrel Bent
Emmisions legal
and able to add Amercican thunder mufflers,

HELP GUYS

IDEA!! Could I buy a Off-road H-pipe, and have a muffler shop cut the cats off of the factory setup, and install them on the H-pipe to make it street legal??

i dont think it matters what pipe you have lol i think its the sound . you would get pulled over if it was to loud or if it sounded like 10peice of rice just jumping around in there . go with some borlas they sound sweet and add decent HP

What is 6 american thunder?

Also, where you say a muffler shop can build me some true duals, what does that mean exactly? Does that mean they will include my stock cats?

The cheapest Cat H-pipe I found was the same price as a whole kit!

I meant get flowmaster super 40's for a v6. American thunder series on a v6 sound bad. They are made for a v8 and sound hollow on the v6.

And they will keep your stock cats or put hi-flo ones on if you have them and they are legal. And they will do custom piping from there getting rid of the y-pipe completely.

I agree. American Thunder on a sixer is a no-no in my book.

Well, I am all about the 40 series. But before I waste my time going down to the shop and what not,

Which would be cheaper.

To order a Kit for 399.00 and have them fab the H-pipe with my cats and install it, or for them to completely build/install everything there at the shop?

cheaper for the shop to do it all. if you buy the kit you are already over what the shop will charge.

OK I was doing some research on these, and when you say 40 series, which ones are you talking about
There is the
original 40
super 40
40 delta

And what is Interior resonance? Those of you who have the 40's dual on your mustang, it is loud inside the car on the highway/road? I want a good sound, but I do not want it too loud where i have to talk loud, or crank the Radio. However I do want a good deep muscle sound outside the ride. as long as it is quiet on the highway!

get super 40's

I have them and there is little to no noise in the car I can hear the exhaust but it is like background noise you don't notice.

Look around for a few muffler shops google it for your area. And go to two or 3 get a price and make sure they use mandrel bends.

GreenFaleen is right. His exhaust has a deep v-8 type sound all the way through the RPM's. If you were to buy a kit on-line, you would have to pay shipping and installation. If you go to a shop, you don't have to pay for the shipping and it will be a true custom. The 40 series is one of the best sounding mufflers in my book for most cars.

OK, I have been doing some research, and it says that when you do anything with the air flow you need to use a tuner. it was talking about a cold air intake. If I put this dual exhaust on my V6, will I need to flash it, or is that ony with engine items.

If I do need to flash it, can the muffler shop or someone do it without me needing to buy a 399.00 tuner? I will buy one sometime for the power/MPG, but I do not want to have to get one BEFORE I can do my exhaust!

I hear some peoples exhaust that when they rev it up, on the whind down, it has a little sound like a little fire cracking going off inside the muffler. what is that? is that due to a non-flash?

A dual exhaust does not require a tune but a CAI does.
