im running straight pipes with a crossover....theres no mufflers...i wanna know if im gonna pass inspection....also i hear with no mufflers im gonna lose twrq but gain in the high r's??? and also in rwhp??? what is this?

actually witht the s/c it sounds a lil more mellow and lower lol....i noticed that....but yeah in hgiher rpms u can notice it wonce i hit about 3,000rpms it get a lil ehhh not really but ehhh kinda tad but "RASPY" not ricey leave it alone its a mustang they cant sound ricey unless u make them ricey...

on my piece o shit sunfire the flex pipe cracked right off at the manifold it sounded like a bloody chopper idling and sounding like a souped up v4 blender when i was giving her all she had lol

actually i know how alot of us hate hondas and lil 4 bangers but i give them props...anyone who can take my car with a lil 4 cylander has my respect..i got beat by a h22bat or something like that honda with a 100 shot....i gave him props it was even his dd...so yeah but when they just make them look ricey ehhh

my sunfire gt may be a peice of shit but i got a little work into her and she is a pretty damn quick one the 2.4l twin cam quad4 by pontiac and gm is a amazing 150 HP @ 5,600 rpm; 155 ft lb @ 4,400 rpm torque match hp and i maybe had an extra few cuz of header high flow magnaflow cat and mufflers and a CAI and i could keep head to head with the grand prix gt's my co-op student was cocky lol

if u got a visual inspection yes u will fail i think ur required to have mufflers that are dot approved well in Canada u are lol and it is true if u got no back pressure u will lose torque in ur low end also forgot u will need cats for inspection thats for sure

straight pipes without mufflers are illegal on anything made after 78 I think it is what ever the cut off for emissions is. If you need to pass inspection throw some cheap glass packs on till you get the cash it will sound not so good but you can get 2 welded for 50 bucks.
