Putting in a new engine

Hey guys, I just joined here, and I just bought my first mustang. Already in love with it, 1995 Mustang Convertible. However, i want some more power, so I was thinking about putting a V8 under the hood. I have a question for you all of you who have had mustangs for a while: 1) Is it possible to put a V8 in my car? 2) how much will it cost (generally)

If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it. thanks

1) Yes

2) More than it would cost to buy a gt

if you have the cash to blow on the engine drop just go ahead and buy a GT it will be cheaper and you will have money to mod with.

i just got it a few months ago for really cheap, like $4k, but it has 150+ miles on it and i wanted more power, so i was like, hey i wonder if i could put a V8 in that. But yeah, if its gonna cost more than a gt, forget that

yeah you could get a 4.2l stroker crate engine (easy drop it is a stroked 3.8) for 2 grand that will give you a new engine and quite a bit of power.

if your thinkin about a engine drop, you are gonna wanna swap up to an engine that would really be worth it. A buddy and I are gonna drop a 351 modified into his 79 ford. We were also gonna drop a SR20DET into his 240sx, but we decided to just turbo the motor he has already since it is a stronger motor.

ok so i know we've touched on stroker kits before, do you have to buy a block for a stroker kit or can you just buy the stroker kit (ie. Crankshaft, pistons, etc.) and put them into your unmodified block, like my 4.0L?

you can buy a stoker kit, but for an old engine why buy the kit and the internals when you can get one with all of that already for 2 grand.

You can have your car supercharged or turbo charged that will give you more power then a GT and sound bad ass , but you'll be looking at spending around 5-6k after every thing is said and done.
