Cold Air Intake quick ?

Is there a big difference between a cold air intake that sits in the fenderwall or in the engine bay?

one locates the filter to the fender and gets fresh air, the other pulls it from the engine bay, but less piping.

Hmmm. Kind of a generic answer. Of course any filter that pulls air from an (already hot) engine bay is gonna be less efficient than an induction system that takes (non-engine heated) cold air from the fender. Fender CAI's are fairly cheap and I recommend them as oppose to a short ram air filter.

Pretty much any parts outlet(Jegs,Summit and so on) should have them. V6mustangstuff.com also sells them I know

also keep in mind that some are made of differant materials, for instance mine is from MAC and is aluminum, which is more prone to heat soak than a composite tube.

Dude! Do you know of somebody that makes a composite CAI? If so let me know. I didn't think anybody made one for the v6 yet.

demolet is a good choice if you are looking for a cai that doesnt soak up heat. mustangtuning.com has some good cai cause personally i dont trust ebay for something like that.

00SoSlow: if ur the type who wants to just sit back and enjoy driving in silence (like me) then consider that the roar coming from the CAI can be a bit distracting at times. if u don't mind that then go ahead and get a CAI

CAI

My car came with a fender cai built into it. I changed it out for a K&N Gen 2 CAI. I've noticed that the K&N gave me more power, not much, but noticable over the other. I also noticed just a hair more acceleration difference. I don't know if this will help or not...

All CAI really does is gives better throttle response and lets the car breath a little better. Get a 40 dollar one and be done put a k&N filter on it it is a k&N CAI pretty much.
