You won't believe the difference a stall converter can make. Thats the best bang for the buck on autos. Make sure you run drag radials or slick, you'll need it for the extra thrust off the line!

Pretty excited about it and cant wait for the track to open back up in april to try this thing out. I need to run a 7.8 or better to be faster than my buddys blown fox. If the new cam, stall, tires, and suspension come together I dont see why I cant pick up .6 seconds in the 1/8th.
Hoping this is the last high dollar peice to the puzzle til I build my sc block. Except maybe the front suspension and a few tubular parts out front.
Decided to stay with the 373's to see how they do with the new stall but will be putting in the detroit locker when I drop my trans.
awsome man thats great stuff.

You should almost pick up that time with the stall alone IMO. Everything else should be just butter. Cam will do wonders as well if it is geared more toward a blower cam.

Stalls are great things... 7.8 in the 1/8th ,you're gonna need the ford gods on your side.

I wonder how a V6 with the eaton would do in the 1/8th. I dont remember from others that have done it. But I would think being a roots blower it would have the low end to do it.

Yeah, I would think an eaton would do better 1/8th than a centri.

Unless the centri is a standard and can launch at what ever RPM he wants.

Really I'd like to break 7's is all. But I know what your saying...Once you get to a certain point it becomes harder and harder to shave off those tenths.

Yeah...I may be reaching a little after looking at some of the timeslips on v6p.
If I'm running 87mph with a shitty 2.03 60'...Say I 60' at 1.8 with the new converter...that would be a couple miles faster in the 60'...and give me a higher trap all together. I would have to run around 90-92mph to hit a 7.8. This is all given the tires hold the track. At this point to run a 7.89...The track is going to have to be near perfect condition and I'm going to have to be near perfect launch and shifts. Also the colder weather the better.
Another way would be to rev to 6500rpm...but I dont want to go that high on stock block. I shift 5800-6000 usually.
Not trying to bench race but the track is closed til april so all I can do is talk about it

i wouldnt rev past the 6000mark on the stock bottom, the stock rods are to weak for high RPM like that, especially with a power adder. really a good stall can easily break you in the 1.7 60fts

Started installing the converter today. Cant find out if the 4r70w has 2 or 3 electrical plugs on it. Dont want to drop the trans and pull wires loose.
I will post back with the results if the roads are clear.

I am building a 4.2 "longrod" form super-six motorsports and will be running an eaton M98 at 10 PSI, with a small stall (B&M torker 2000) AOD, 3.73's in a 1983 'stang 'vert. It will be a month before my pistons get here, but it will be based on a .060 over S/C motor

times and dyno slip to come.
