This is an explanation

Setting the Mustang TPS Voltage

From what you describe it sounds more like a problem with the idle air control valve (IACV). The throttle body should close all the way down to the stop screw and then the IACV controls air at idle. The TPS should have come with the throttle body.

Also the MAF determines the flow rate and could be contributing to the problem. The computer is taking in data from the TPS, MAF, and oxygen sensors to adjust the mixture.

Personally I would think that it's a defective replacement part.

If it's any sort of electronics or parts that need to be very accurate I'd go with factory parts. I've seen a lot of complaints that are fixed by putting factory sensors on in place of a cheap sensor from auto zone. Not to say that all aftermarket sensors are junk, I just prefer factory.

You adjust it with the set screw.

I put my stock tb back on and its still messed up. I never touched the set screw so I dont think that is the problem. It has to be the sensor. Do you think there is a big difference between a factory tps and an autozone one?

Only in the quality of the parts as far as I know.

I haven't ever tested one sensor against another so I'm not sure which is more accurate. I do however know that a lot of the time people put on these aftermarket sensors and they can cause issues. It also may fail sooner than a factory part.

I know a lot of people are against the whole dealership but sometimes it is better to just use the original parts.

I don't know if you've tried disconnecting your battery yet or not. If you haven't try disconnecting it and let it sit for about 10 minutes. That should reset the KAM. Which will reset your idle and all other adaptable parameters.

Also someone mention and IAC valve. This could be stuck open. Try removing it and cleaning that if resetting your KAM doesn't work.

So today im supposed to get this fixed and I took off my stock tb again to switch it back with the 65mm bbk one. I made sure I did everything correct. I looked at the pics of wat my tps should look like and I believe I have the wrong kind.....It is a ford mustang tps but an offbrand and the mounting locations are wrong, compared to the OEM picture of the tps mounting locations.
