Thank you. I think the OPs needs a tune put in where it limits his speed to 65.

I would say if you have $5000, just save some more (maybe sell the one you have) and get a v8... Believe me, I have a sixer

(edit): On the other hand, considering your track record... maybe not

-supercharger
-T Lock and gears.
-Fuel mods

start with this.

exhaust will be needed, like a mid/catback. You will also need subframe connectors so the frame doesn't twist.

Stock internals are good around 320-350rwhp with a good tune.

So heres the deal, im a senior in high school, i make 8.25 an hour at maybe 20 hours a week in the winter...But i know i could get more hours if i wanted. Anyways, i need suggestions for power. I read that bolt ons dont really increase hp all that much. Should i go from a 3.8 to a 4.2? How much will that cost? I dont want to spend more than $5,000. Could a stock v6 handle a supercharger? Or a turbo? Please let me know anything you know to help.
Another thing that you could consider is selling your mustang and buy a 99-00 GT I keep watching those for 4k-5,500, insurance at times will be the same as a v6 or go up a little bit like 20-30 bucks. But all depends on how much your v6 is worth if its worth a little I say bolt ons if it worths more than 4k then I say GT.

save the $5K.
you'll need it for an attorney when you get caught going that fast and/or you cause a wreck.
its not about how fast you can go dummy.
its about how fast you can get up there.

They do. But after a while it will brake. I went to the track a few times. It popped, and then it just stop popping. I check it nothing went wrong with the engine. or anything it still run smooth. She a good car, I treat her well. She just a show car for now and ya kid I had the same mind as you im was 18 got my v6 want more power parents thought a v6 would be ok. Then one day driving down the road with a few friends that drove mustang. A buddy of mine crash into a light pole then a hit a few signs and almost went into the lake. Lucky we were all with him to get him to safety. Take your car to a few autocross races. I’m 20 man I’ve had my sixer for 3 years I keep telling my self I want to go faster. But ya its gone take a lot of time and money and some driving time.

Within 6 months of having my license, i hit the governor limit on my mustang as well. Middle of the day, on a 5 lane road, in the middle turn lane............

............god im lucky to have made it out of my teenage years..........

Moral of this story is, DON'T BE STUPID! Driving fast has its place and time, doing 118 down a public road is not it. Take the advice from us that have been there and seen the damage it can do.

now, onto the mods.........

I would recommend an 8.8 rear end or a t-lock first. Worst feeling in the world is having ONE back wheel get loose from you in a turn, because its almost imposable to get any control of a slide when you can only control the spinning on one wheel.

After that, exhaust probably, if nothing but for the noise.

exhaust will make it so much more fun to drive simply because people will turn their heads to see what car was making all that racket...next id go with under drive pulleys, steeda.com has a pretty good one. next pick up a cold air. brand name doesnt matter their all the same..so probably the one from americanmuscle.com would be one of the cheapest. next i would personally go for a cam for the torque and sound. then if you have enough left over look into an m112 kit and if your still not having fun with your car than its time to save for that enzo
