turbo's - which ones and what to believe

Ebay has complete twin turbo kits for 999 to 1,299. Nice too. Its got chrome and some anodized red and electric blue parts, clamps, pipes and the whole 9 yards, I think. Than you check out some independent web sites and the turbo kits go for 3,000 to 5,000 dollars? I know the saying you pay for what you get but why such a disparity. The 999 to 1,299 was on ebay with a web site for questions at jlovetdrifting@gmail.com.( Ebay search mustang v6 twin turbo kit) I'm no mechanic so I don't know the right questions to ask but it said in the ad that it was a complete system less the manafold. If you go onto ebay, please let me know what you think. What would something like this cost to install and would you go to a speed shop or is a local mechanic ok to install this. Will I need to tune the car, gut the cats and all that stuff?

thanks

From what I've heard about these kinds of kits in the past...don't do it. And, yes you definitely need a tune for a turbo.

show me a link to this full turbo kit for $1,000.
ive seen the Ebay crap metal crap weld 5.0 manifolds and ebay 2month turbos for $1000 with other crappy parts.
Ebay and turbo DOES NOT MIX. nothing of it does

yes you will need a tune. you would need a high flow cat or something else to adapt to your new exhaust. a speed shop to install will cost about $1,000

Go to ebay and in the search engine type in v6 mustang tubro kit. scroll down and you will see the same kit for 2 different prices. But when you read further it seems to be decent. I don't want to race just want some balls. If someone goes to check this out please read the description and give me your insight. I just want some more horses. Short of an engine swap what woul you do??????

Thanks

Power costs money, that's pretty much all there is to it. If you want power, your best bet is gonna be to drop some big bucks on a real turbo kit. Sure you can get cheap power, but your engine won't like it too much. it really depends on your budget as to what the options are.

1.) Wait until puberty hits and hopefully your testicles will drop. There's the balls you wanted. And for free.

2.) Two of the best V6 performance builders/dealers as well as probably the most well known on the site gave you advice and you blew them off completely.
If Chris and Kyle give you advice it's in your best interest to follow it.

3.)Read the damn stickies and start with bolt-ons and suspension. Why in the hell would you buy a cheap shitty turbo off Ebay anyways?

...seriously?

The welds on the ebay kit are complete shit, the metal is fucking horrible. If you want turbos to pop prematurly, leaks like porno asshole, broken welds, tons of problems, and more money spent to fix because you decided to be cheap go ahead and get it...I'll be waiting for your "What do I do now?" thread.

I have soem 3rd hand info where they ordered a bunch of them and had to send something like 50 out of 55 back due to broken parts, frozen bearings, etc. There is a reason some things cost 4-6x more, and its not profit! (well some may be, but you get the point). Now if i could only stop staring at Cricket's avatar! nice!

The only "e-bay" turbos that I have seen in person were from on3peformance. The kit was on a 92 fox body and turbos were over 2 years old. The headers had to be tig welded because of cracks. Cold side was in good condition. All tips were rolled so the couplers would not blow off.Waste gate and bovs were replaced with quality parts.

imo you should pick a single turbo and build a kit around it. number one...no one makes custom exhaust manifols for these cars anymore. The header is the hardest part anyways. The stockers can be modified for a turbo. After the turbo is mounted to the manifold the rest is going to be fairly simple. You will have the down pipe and cold side piping. You can buy a universal cold side kit and just peice it. For the down pipe just make the flange and connect with v-band clamps run to the exhaust.
