Um, I'm a noob and I just bought a 98 v6 Mustang the other day and as far as I can tell its perfectly stock. I liked to know how much horsepower and torque it has so I can tell my friends this and compare it to there cars.

read the sticky... it has the hp and torque ratings for the 6ers... yours has 150 to the flywheel

Stock 03 mustang should get mid to high 15's ez...with those mods low 15's

I know severalpeople that have gotten mid to high 15's stock...It depends on the drivers skill level.

On avg the sn95 is about a 16 car stock.

What does sn95 mean? Please forgive my ignorance I kinda just into this whole thing on accident and decided to make it a hobby while looking for parts to repair my mustang which was wrecked when I bought it.

Well the foxbody has a couple diff types of body styles

Convertable
Coupe
Hatch
T-Top (Rare)

Maybe more, but I'm not sure. It really just refers to the boxy body style that started in 1979.

Yep since your car is a 98(like mine) it is the last year of the sn95. Also it has the most powerful singleport v6 stock(not including the supercoupe motor only refering to mustangs.) because the cam in ours makes 10 more hp than in the 97 and below v6's.

Thanks. Especialy for that part about how are 98's cams make more horses. There is a moderate number of people around the small community in which I live and they are all 97's or below with the exceptipn of a 99' but there all v6's. Im the only one with a 98' since no one else wanted to spend the little extra to get a newer ride, but then again I didnt spend jack shit for mine since it was previosly wrecked (really cheap to fix to go figure Im just kinda lucky that way. How do I stack up against the 99' though. Also would you look at my post titled: Upcoming Race Need Help people quit posting on it before I could get the info I needed. And thanks.

well the 99's have 40 more horses and 60 more foot pounds of torque. With a moderate to a good driver, they can get away from you. With a couple mods you can keep up with them, or beat them. I'll post on it when I find it, or if you could give me a link to it then I will def post on it.

10 Horses is just a pride thing, they really won't help you out as much as you would like, but still it's nice to know.

Yeah I agree with that last line thats really all I was looking at it as especially since I'm not a person who walks around being proud to the point of arrogance (Im really pretty level headed) but since I found that wrecked Mustang and repaired it I've kind have been walking tall this past week. I give it a few more days before I'm content again (right now I'm overly content which is a good thing as long as it doesn't last too long). By the way what mods would you suggest for $300 or less budget (also dont bother listing it if they'll decrease gas milage it wouldn't fly with my mom they'd say you shouldn't/won't race or hot rod around in it so why do you need more "power" hmmmmmmmmmmm.)

cai improves mpg got mine for $69. Can get cheaper on ebay for the same thing

underdrive pulleys improve mpg got mine for $144 with shipping

Exhaust does as well

Almost any mod can improve gas mileage, just depends how it works with your car...now gears won't.

I don't street race, and I don't "hot rod" around. I do it because working on my car is what I enjoy.
