it won't stall. You won't accelerate any more but all your shifts even when your driving normally will be sharper, quicker, and more efficient.

hell no man u got to pull the valve body in the tranny YOU NEED TO BE A PROFESSIONAL for the install or your car she wont move from where u started ripping her apart guaranteed. and the car will have to be lifted to get to the tranny pan and remove the valve body.

Since it's an auto you can't stall out...well if its a properly maintained auto you can't.

You can always rev while coasting when your moving put your car in neutral

Do I have to push the button in and move it to neutral or do I just slid it up?

Also tommorrow I'm going to manualy shift using the two gears I have one question when I come to a near stop and I'm in second gear since I can't shift down what do I do ? Can I remain driving in 2nd gear or would that be very slow?

To go down you have to push the button. To get out of D no matter what you have to push the button. You can shift down to 1st when comming to a stop. It really isn't necessary. This is the exact reason why I'm gonna finish up my exhaust, and do what I can to either get a brand new v6 or get a used GT. I'm tired of the auto, and want a 5 speed.

ur going to hit ur tach limit driving in 2nd i think and yes if your stick is in the 2nd position if you come to a stop it will down shift to 1st all the 2nd position does is stop it from shifting past 2nd

keeps the car in a gear that has more torque for towing and getting out of mus or snow and the tach limiter stops you from exceeding the maximum rpm of the engine so you don't damage it.

yeah only down shift with a stock setup if your stopped if you need to slow down or keep going just put it in drive. And 1 and 2 are used for keeping low speeds when in snow or a steep incline when towing

So after reading this thread I tried shifting in my car today, which is an auto. I started in first, went to second, then third, then drive. I must say, it didn't seem much different than having the car in drive. I could tell that the RPMs could be manipulated more, but when I went a gear higher each time it took about a second and a half for the switch to kick in unlike a manual transmission. Because of this, I had to change gears before I hit the 3,000 RPM mark, which I was aiming for.

that delay is because its an auto the torque converter has to sync between gears if you get a shift kit it will help along with a nice after market shifter

Interesting. Without the shift kit I think manually shifting an automatic is pretty useless. I probably won't do it again unless I need to for some unknown and unlikely reason.
