An easy way to check and see if you're over clocking the alt is to turn on every load your car has.

Both amps, stereo, head lamps, flashers, a/c, wipers full speed, rear deffroster, and interior lights.

Then take a voltmeter and measure the voltage at the battery with the car running.

You should see 14-14.3 If you see below 13.5 you might need to upgrade your alt.

but you dont necessarily need to have all your accessories on as it will still read 14-14.3 with them off.

The reason I say turn them on is to make sure that it can handle everything that he may need.
