auto built vs t-5 swap?
Been debating this for a while now wether or not to swap in a 5 speed into my car or just build up the auto with some gears, and a manual valve body? plan on doing some drag racing, and daily driving any comments for best setup? want to choose what way i want to go with my auto v6?

Stage 3 heads, and a split port swap?
I'm going t5 or t56 soon, its just more fun.

yes that is another thing thats on my list split port swap, was going to get some heads, upper an lower intakes, and cam from super six, just have to see how it pans out, trying to fix some problems with her right now, tapping noise. I just replaced the an exhaust manifold that was cracked, and all the rockers and pivots on both heads, still tapping when giving it gas. thinking its the lifter, just can wait to have the noise gone so i can start some modding. t-56 you should go for heard that trans can take a beating.

I did the t5 swap, and I couldn't be any happier. Best mod I've done hands down. What kind of numbers are you looking for with your future setup? I'd suggest the 5spd, unless you plan on making some serious power.

i would have to agree with the above, unless youre gonna be putting down like 400-450 to the ground (turbo or sc) you dont NEED the auto, BUT if you already have the auto, it makes more sense to keep it, T-5 if you have the money and you really want a manual, but its more practical to build what youve got

they make t56s strong enough for 1000rwhp...yes 1,000rwhp+. Auto is just the way to go if you actually do go through with it and decide to make power. it takes all of 300whp to break a stock t5.....300rwhp isnt too serious at all..

i didn't mean that the t-56 could handle the hp cause i know it can just like you said, i ment it would be easier to use with hight out put of power, not having to shift, and missing gears

my goal is 400+ hp, i want to build the motor as much as i can and get as much na hp as i can then put on a tc. i mean i will be bringing the car to the drag strip from time to time, but mostly daily driver. been trying to bring the car to the track to see what it puts down almost stock, but having trouble, with some ticking noises, can't seem to figure out the problem. Im just on the fence with the auto or 5 speed, becaue my current auto is not shifting that well anymore, so thinking it might be a good chance to drop in a 5 speed.
