1996 v6 Mustang
My son just went from a '93 Fox to a '96 V6. The motor in the '96 has blown
heads gaskets and we have a good V6 from a '96 Thunderbird. Is there anything I should know before we swap motors? I'll be swapping over the 5 speed stuff to the new motor. It was out of an automatic. Thanks, Don |

No, it was a standard Thunderbird....non supercharged. I'm assuming
there is nothing different between this motor and the one that is coming out of the Mustang? |

Well, the old motor is out and the replacement motor is ready to go in.
Nothing too exciting. There is a difference with the heater core line that runs from the water pump towards the rear of the motor. Different bend in the tube. Just hacked it off in the middle and spliced in the Mustang end. It also seems that the clutch for a V6 runs more than what a V8 clutch costs. I ended up at American Driveline to buy the clutch without having to buy the whole kit. Should drop this in tonight. |

I was just curious to know if it had the M90 or not.

If M90 is referring to a super charger....then no, the motor we are putting in
the car was from a run of the mill Thunderbird of the same year. This motor is now in the car and just about ready to fire. Still have to hook up the starter and toss the Y pipe back on. Things went back in faster than they came out. |

Motor runs great. Fired right up. Is there any use for the exhaust headers
off of the Thunderbird? They do not have the O2 sensor bungs like the Mustang headers. |
