New Owner! Looking for cheap mods!

I bought a 2000 mustang w/ a standard transmission.

I was wondering if you could help me by telling me some cheap mods that i
could use with my car.

My uncle drilled 13 1 inch holes in his air filter casing to increase air intake.

Is this a good idea?

thanks

Cold Air Intake, Dual Exhaust, Gears, Headers, A Goot Tune... Those are fairly cheap, but modding will cost you a bit. Those are just the mods people generally start with

drilling the air box is a small trick not many know about.
Ebay intake
muffler shop welded exhaust
underdrive pulleys
SCT tuner.
your looking at about $1000 there and 20hp maybe.

or your could intake and spray the car with nitrous

3.73 gears and tlok, not necessarily cheap but a great mod none the less.

Also is your uncle buying a chip or a handheld tuner?

Honestly man its not really a secret or anything someone with half a brain couldnt figure out lol. Im pretty sure most people dont consider it because you can just take the snorkle off or buy a cheap CAI.

Like ewells said, just take the snokel off and call it a day. Or you can get a CAI on eBay for not a whole lot (unless you really want BBK, K&N, etc).

Haha yeah. I'm not sure how familiar you are with cars, but if you need help removing the snorkel I can help you or hook you up with a video that will help you get it out in a matter of minutes.

How To Install Cold Air Intake (V6 & V8 Mustang) | AutoHow.TV

It's a video for a CAI install but the first part is about taking off the stock air box. Basically you'll go as far as removing the snorkel, then reverse the steps to put it back together. Change your air filter while you've got it open. Mine was filthy as hell when I got in there lol
