Ideas?!?

ok honestly i am aware the fact that i post a lost of stuff about what t odo with my car but last time i had an idea, i had realy no feedback...anyway...

my idea is....
once my car makes it threw the winter on the firestone winter force tires i got on em i plan to take me engine out of the car and COMPLETELY take the engine apart....down to the bare block and clean everything and i mean everything. im thinking about buying brand new dome pistons more for a bit more compression/pressure. brand new push rods and rocker arms (my car is 12 yrs old its a 97) mabey a hole new crank shaft but thats it (or anything thats need repair) also i meat to mention new values. then by this time (end of winter spring or 2010) i plan to have a complete donor car rip the transmission (5spd stick) and use everything from the donor car the computer and harness nd all and slapping it in my car ...

so at that point in time i plan to have my original engine cleaned spotless and new parts in it a new 5spd manual trans replacing the 4 spd auto.

than slapp a pro charger on the engine/under the hood) and put it a glass pack dual exhaust or w/e its called thats was my "idea"

and for the record budget and time are not a problem in this idea and my next one

my other idea is rip out my v6 buy a boss 302 engine block and build it from there find a donor car with a 5spd (preferably a 6spd manual trans) and use all the componets need from the donor to put the new transmission in. then install like i said above a dual exhaust(not sure which brand yet) then after all mechanical work is donw my vary last steep is to repain my car metalic white or midnight blue with white two tone racing stripes

and again for both projects (for what ever one i decide to)i will sink every penny and spare time i have on what ever project i decide to do)

so after hearing that and know that time and money are not "really" any object what would you do....and kep in mind i dont want to buy a new car cuz i want to keep my car if at all possible and avoid a payment every month

If money isn't an object, then neither will monthly payments be. Get either a ford GT, or a 2010 GT500

Or put a Ford GT motor in your car.

Honestly man, its a 97 single port. Its not a great platform to make big power. That is assuming you are looking for big/medium power.

And I wouldnt rebuild the engine unless I was trying to make big power. AND I wouldnt go that far unless I was going to do a stroker kit or AT LEAST put in forged pistons, rods, crank.

So it really comes down to what your end goal is. FYI you CAN do a splitport conversion, so not all is lost if you dont want to buy a new car.

ok well first off, if you put the boss motor in I am assuming that you are going to go carb, and second off you do know that the v6 tranny will not fit that i do not believe. As far as building your car up that is a lot of work to pull a motor and put a completely different motor in. I am not saying that it can not be done, but to get your gauges and everything to work and all of your heat and powersteering and the engine mounts. Then you will want to beef up your front suspension to handle the heavier boss engine. I am not saying that it is not possible, but be ready if you go with the boss to fabricate a lot of stuff on your own.

as far as the v6 that seems like a better idea to me. Ok i will try to search there was a guy on here who just posted a link to his car a couple weeks ago and it was a single port with like 400rwhp. He ended up porting the heads and putting forged internals in then putting an m90 blower on it. The m90 is smaller than the m112 but the advantage is it is intercooled, so you can run much more boost. He ended up running like 15psi of boost. That seems a lot easier to me to do that. And then your transmission would work cuz it is the same block. And if you wanted even more power, you could run the higher compression with a water methanol injection kit. You will just have to be carefull to not put too much boost or compression together. My opinion is go with rebuilding your own motor.

if your looking at more power, it would just be easier to go with building your motor, putting ported heads, and a cam, and then put an m90 on there and run 15 psi boost maybe 20. Then put maybe some nitrous on top of that. all of that will cost you a lot less than the full 5.4 or 302. You are looking at 1200 for the internals, 800 for the heads, 300 for cam,600 for the m90. And if you run an m90 alone at high boost you will make some serious power.

You also have to realize that you will have to put either a detroit differential or an 8.8 in the rear.
