Engine swap How Difficult will this be?

I have a rod knocking in my 04 3.9l. i have a couple of options i found a 3.9l engine with around 59k on it that i can do a straight swap. or i also found a 4.6 l v8 how difficult will it be o put that 4.6l in, and what issues am i going to run into going that route. ie. computer, ignition, wiring.

Thanks for all your knowledge.

John

It would be fairly easy to swap in another 3.9 L engine.

Putting in the V8 would be difficult. Most people on this forum say if you want a V8 it's easier to just sell the current car and buy a V8 model.

ya it is fairly difficult to switch the v8 into your car. you have to look at the time and money involved and it doesnt pay. if it was a carburated v8 then it would be a lot easier. but as far as the 4.6 you need to get all of the wiring and the gauge cluster and have all of the sensors and the computer. it is a lot of work.
