Yes for the HID bulbs to work correctly you'll need to pick up a conversion kit. I recommend just getting one on ebay for $40-$100 rather than spend $200+ at any normal retailer.

HIDs are good choices actually these days. they are very useful at night times and meet the expectations on high beams. but some people find concerns regarding them on relay part

a buddy of mine had a kit that installed simply just by installing a few brackets to hold the ballasts and plugging them in between the light plug and the light.
