bigger filter for CAI?
I bought the AM CAI that goes into the fender, I was wondering can I put a bigger filter on it or I have to stick with that one?
thanks Last edited by 00mustangv6; November 8th, 2009 at 12:48 PM. |

You can get a bigger filter as long as there's room inside the fender. Make sure the opening that attaches to the tube is still the same size though.

it wont.
(these are not accurate numbers, they are just randomly chosen for the point of the matter) say the filter flows 700cfm but the engine only flows 500cfm, why buy the 700cfm filter if the engine is only able to take advantage of 500cfm? again these numbers were just random chosen to be used for the lesson, please dont respond with "my engine flows at 500cfm?" or "the V6 actually flows 755cfm"

I put a large filter on mine by cutting the cai before the bend that goes into the fender well. It doesn't add any noticable power but it does change the exhaust note and looks better imo.
