the 2 links you provided (the motive gear and frpp t lok) are good deals. you would be lucky to be see advertised that low...
here is what i have and run: mac long tube headers off road h pipe magnaflow cat back cai sct xcal 2 ran a 15.650 @ 86.420 with stock gearing and one wheel peeling. this thursday i am expecting very low 15s or very high 14s. now i can easily hand asses to stock eclipses, but camaros of different years/options have different engines- even in the v8. a v6 camaro is a 17second 1/4 mile car stock. same goes for v6 trans am... now some v8 camaros are like stock 5.0L mustangs with just over 215bhp and 15 second 1/4 miles. so depending on the motor and driver and what you can run, the results of the races you have in mind are questionable. as far as the brand- motive is like frpp gears, but generally 10-20 dollars cheaper for the ring and pinion set. also, motive is a louder gear than the frpp unit. some say the motive gear whines a little...

So u don't think i would be disappointed with thsoe two links that i provided if i bought and installed those gears with that t lok? And as far as the camaro goes all i know about it is that it is a 1995 Camaro Auto V6 (2.8L i think) and a completely stock motor.

i could beat the camaro to 25mph on my bicycle man. dont even worry about the camaro- actually, i would encourage a video taped ass whipping of the camaro.
and you will be fine with the links you provided. if you are installing them yourself, you will need an installation kit- aapx $60 and the gear lubricant/friction modifier. shops carry this stuff and install should be around $250

i agree with everything atlantic said, just dont spend TOO much time at 115...... the revs will be pretty high at that point
(truthfully i dont think its safe to drive that fast on public roads anyhow but im not your daddy :wink ) |

ok youll prolly think im retarded but what are these gears youre all talking about? What do they actually do and what do all these numbers mean? Someone please explain this to me and what some good setups are. I have a 99 v6 auto so what would be the best?

the gears are ring and pinion gears for the rear end. i actually ran a 15.025 at 91.37 mph the weekend after i put my gears in and had a break in period pass. and this time was with a locked converter in the transmisison. i am now expecting mid 14s out of a rebuilt tranny- enough to beat stock 4.6L's, even some 99-04 gt's.
stock, you have an open rear end differential with 3.27:1 ring and pinion ratio gears. a gear such as a 3.73:1 or 4.10:1 would get you better accelereation and get you into your powerband rpms quicker, thus making your car faster. on my bolt on 99 v6 auto, i gained 1/2 second from the gears in my 1/4 mile time, and my trap time is consitently in the 91+ mph range now instead of high 80mph range. I have Ford Racing Performance Parts 4.10:1 ring and pinion gears and a Ford Racing Performance Parts Trac lok differential (to get both the left and right rear wheels to spin equally in straight lauches)

im confused, what actually do they do and how does it help performance? I understand that it helps the acceleration and allows you to get to your power quicker but how? Sorry about all the questions.

The gears change the motion of the driveshaft to the axles to make your car move. The ratio of the gear is what effects performance. A gear with a higher ratio (i.e. 4.10:1) will turn the rear end more quickly than that of a gear with a lower ratio (i.e. 2.73:1 or 3.27:1). By changing the gear ratio, you simply enable your car to acclerate quicker or slower. so getting a gear like a 4.10:1 gear will allow your car to acclerate more quickly

I don't know yet. I had them about a week before I had to put the car in the shop to rebuild the transmission.
