Update on my V6 build...

Alright, done with class, so time to update some forums. So heres the scoop. By next year, the car will be finished. RECAP! Started off as my graduation gift back in 2004, my 02 coupe, full stock. Little by little of course, I bought the little stuff here and there until after I re-enlisted back into the Air Force and got my bonus, I went all out. Its been about six years into the making, and I remember when I was still a newjack many moons ago, I was promising my good buddy Drew back home that my car was gonna break low 12s. So here we go, this is the list so far....

P1SC Procharger w/ 3-Core Intercooler @ 15psi
SSM Long Rod 4.3L Stroker Rotating Assembly
SSM Stage 3 Ported Cylinder Heads - 1.94/1.56 Valves
SSM Stage 3 Ported Lower Intake w/o IMRCs
SSM CompCams Billet Cam 224/230 .54/.54 114 Lobe Sep.
SSM CompCams Stud 1.7 Roller Rockers
Morana V6 Racing 3.8L/4.2L Main Girdle
Precision Industries 3000RPM Stall
VAP Auto J-mod Shift Kit
VAP Auto Intake Spacer
'97 Ford Windstar Upper Intake Manifold
MAC Longtube Headers
Custom PVC Pipe "Cold Air Intake" w/ K&N Filter
Airin 25mm Throttle Body Spacer
70mm Power Throttle Body
60lb Injectors
Kenne Bell 40amp Boost-A-Pump w/ Upgraded Wiring
9mm Ford Racing Spark Plug Wires
Fore Precision 03/04 Cobra Dual Pump Fuel Hat
2003 Cobra Dual Pumps
2003 Cobra Fuel Tank
Diablosport MAFia
Aluminum Driveshaft w/ Safety Loop
BAER Decela Front Rotors
UPR QA1 Tubular K-member, A-Frames, Coilovers
Lakewood Struts 90/10 [Front]
Maximum Motorsports 4bolt Caster Camber Plates
Rebuilt 8.8 Rear End / 4.10 Gears

In search now is some more tubular suspension for the rear and bit more weight reduction anywhere else if I can find things to replace. The tranny can hold the way it is now with just the stall and the j-mod, so that earned me liesure for money for other things. Subframe connectors, slicks, and upgraded rotors and calipers for the rear and just the calipers for the front. I may replace the MAFia and go with the 2005+ slot-style MAF sensor for the better tuning, and that may just be it, and I can wrap up the modding process and worry about the rest of the labor bill for now.

Now for some media, starting with the car and the engine...

And now for some build pics... These will get updated as soon as they come...

Bored, with the new forged crank, pistons and cam installed..

more of a general question, but say that you run the same horsepower as a v8 stang with your add ons, (for this example ill say identical) does the weight difference give you a quicker vehicle? This is before you do weight reduction.

Yea any less weight is gonna make you faster, assuming the same torque outputs, too. I think its what, like a 200# difference, V6 to GT? So about .2 or so in the 1/4 and some cornering too.

the key is the torque tho i guess. But 200 less answers my question so i guess thats something to run with but i expected alot more of a difference between the gt and v6.

Indeed any weight difference between the my car and a V8 would do me great, though the difference between both a standard [not talking about the transmisson] V6 and V8 is approx. 160lbs. Not alot, but a good number to start with.

V6's weigh less then that folks...GT's are in the 3400+ area. My car weighed in at 3050 with just rear seat removed and passsenger...which btw my Turbo and piping pretty much makes most that weight up

the torque curve and torque in general are very close to a 4.6L when a 4.2L motor is boosted. I mean at that point your .4L away. I have heard many say my curve looks like the 4.6L's when procharged.

Pardon, I may have been fed wrong info, but I had the weights written down long ago anyway.

that is one sweet stang. I like the body of it. And you will have the hp to back it up. Congrats. One day I hope to have a car like that.
