Feeling the Heat??? (help!)

Hey guys so today i went for a 3 hour cruise. I went on the freeway(traffic), cruised sunset blv., then hit up Mulhulland dr. all in all it added up to about 3 hrs all this happening at night (cold weather). Tonight i noticed it was pretty cold outside, but yet i felt warm (not hot) comming from the kickpanel area, shifter, carpet, and steering wheel. By the way i do have dual exhaust. Engine temps were normal no overheating. So my question is is this normal to feel SOME kind of heat after running the car for this long??? Again it wasnt HOT just warm as if the heater was turned on lightly in the footwell area. Thanks again for all the help guys...

And some pics of the cruise...

and this was earlier in the day overlooking universal city on mulhulland drive

^ you can see universal studios in this one... I love Hollywood!

You made sure your heater was set to "vent" and not "mix," right? I'm assuming cold weather + convertible you had the heater running and "mix" will divide the air between the upper vents and the footwell vents.

No the heater was not on at all! It was on off the whole time. Thats why i believe it was the heat from the exhaust and motor. Very strange no?

Its normal. Lots of slow moving stop and go will allow the heat to build up...with cool air above, you might feel it. As long as your not SMELLING exhaust or something smoldering/burning.
