Slow Fueling

Ok so I've been wondering if this is a problem with all 1999 mustangs or just mine...It only takes in gas from the pump VERY slowly at some pumps. I can never let a pump fill it up at full tilt, or it just backs up and clicks off. I've just been filling up $5-10 at time because I don't wanna spend 15 min pumping, which is damn near the truth. If anyone else knows the problem or a solution that'd be great. If there isn't I'll have to look into it and/or make my own bigger neck. Thanks.

have the same car as u and i have never had that problem unless there was a problem with the gas pump it self. I fill my car up all the time and just leave the lever down at the pump and it clicks off when done it takes like 2 mins

The vent lines are either clogged or pinched as Catfiesh said.

I see this concern from time to time at the dealer. Most of the time a spider decides to build a web in your vent line and believe it or not, that's just enough to cause a slow fueling issue.

I'm with them ^ I've had the same issue at times, I don't think mine is bad, but living in Odessa (aka the sticks) I wouldn't be surprised if some type of critter was in there.

I've got this issue in my 5.0, but not in the Cobra. It seems to be getting better with each fill up though

^Maybe each fill is pushing the spider and his lair further and further down into your tank.

My V6, 2005 mustang had, and still is a pain in the ass to fill up. Ford even put in a new tank. It gives me a hard time at sunoco, but at the shell station, its fine so far.

I had this same problem with my 06 mustang, and a 05 explorer. It seems like the explorer never wanted to fill up, and they both were extremely slow.
